Jim, those are some fine looking pens, and you have a great set up there with back to back lathes. In the picture of you turning I see that you have an awfully large piece of wood just for a pen, why so big? Thanks for allowing us all have a look at these.

len, my drill press doesnt drill straight it likes to go off center so i use the larger one so i can turn it down and account for the side that is off center so itll be a bit fatter then a reg slim line pen...once i get an upgraded drill press i got a bunch of corian that is about 1/2 in wide that i want to get made into pens... but i guess u get what u pay for when it comes to tools...the bigger lathe is what i use to make canes. Thanks

Nice pens Jim. I had the same troubles drilling pen blanks so I bought a 4-jaw chuck for the lathe and drill with it. Much easier and faster and dead center every time.
