TAIrving Posted April 18, 2023 Report Posted April 18, 2023 Very nice Barb, I love the pattern and you have done a great job of cutting it. And it is a very nice piece of wood, I really like cherry. Per your question, how thick is the wood? 1/4" is too thin for a trivet and more than 1/2" is too thick & heavy for a wall hanging. At 1/2" I think it will work either way. barb.j.enders 1 Quote
Scrappile Posted April 18, 2023 Report Posted April 18, 2023 I love the Haida art. Great piece! Too nice to hot pan on, I vote for wall hanging. barb.j.enders 1 Quote
JessL Posted April 18, 2023 Report Posted April 18, 2023 That is nice. Bet that would sell well up here in Alaska. barb.j.enders 1 Quote
Dak0ta52 Posted April 18, 2023 Report Posted April 18, 2023 Very nice piece, Barb. I dream of days I can cut a piece with solid wood that doesn't break the bank. I've got a bandsaw that I hope to start doing resaws to create some good solid pieces of wood. Lots a Sycamore on my property. I've heard that cuts well. barb.j.enders 1 Quote
rjweb Posted April 18, 2023 Report Posted April 18, 2023 Barb, that is really nice, excellent cutting, RJ barb.j.enders 1 Quote
jerry walters Posted April 18, 2023 Report Posted April 18, 2023 That is very nice Barb. Looks like a trout and moon. Maybe someone was dreaming of nighttime fishing when the pattern was designed. Too nice to be used as a trivet, I vote for wall hanging. Jerry barb.j.enders 1 Quote
scrollerpete Posted April 18, 2023 Report Posted April 18, 2023 Very nice Barb, I vote for wall hanging also, you do not want to hide it as a trivet. barb.j.enders 1 Quote

I got a friend to plane the rest of it after I did this piece. Dak0ta52 1 Quote
