Finally put a finish on two of my projects

Added a backer board spray painted black for the shepherd, stained it and added danish oil..  The owl face is just coated in danish oil over raw birch.  I don't have a real home for them yet, just put them anywhere for now.

That Shepherd is really fine work! But, for the life of me, I can't make out the owl. Great cutting, though . I guess my visual closure abilities are declining with age...along with other abilities and parts.

My Mom can't see the owl face either.  It is clear as day for me though.  Maybe the pattern below will help? It was a free pattern I got a while back, can't remember from where, but I sure do love it!

The shepherd is a Russ Beard pattern. He nailed it for sure. Looks just like my boy.

With no contrasting backer board and the angle of the  photo, is probably why it is difficult to understand what one is looking at on the owl.  The pattern photo helps somewhat indeed.   Nice work with the scrolling. Thanks for posting

Now seeing the pattern it is there! I have some patterns that really look good until I cut them and than it was difficult to determine what the cutting was supposed to be! You did a great job on both cuttings and seeing an owl facing that way is very unusual! Nearly all owl patterns, pictures, are facing toward you as they are in the wild!
