Docupton
After being made redundant over 2 years ago I decided on the spur of the moment to buy a scroll saw, i have never looked back, i took to it as they say like a duck to water. I have owned my Erbauer saw for about 5 months now and am already looking to upgrade. There seems to be a lack of clubs in my area (Leicester, England) So her i am, Hi Everyone. inspirations
Hi there, welcome to SSV. Yes you are correct we do lack scroll saw clubs in the U K and the Bristol area is no better. Regards to up grading your scroll saw i have always used the Axminster scroll saw it is similar to the Hegner but less costly [ AWFS 18 model ] . Docupton
Hi, inspirations, I have ben looking at both the axminster and the hegner but the one that has really caught my eye is the proxxon, cheapest i've found is 371.00, very tempted. And Hi to you too wombatie, thanks for the welcome.
Robert Phillips
Hi Inspirations I also have the Erbauer its a really good saw for the money (paid £50 for mine). Had it about 3 months now and absolutly love it. Still "playing" atm but getting better. Rob
inspirations
Hi doc, yes i like the look of the proxxon but only the large model. Have a look on Ebay call up fret saw or scroll saw heading there is a Axminster up for grabs a return Model to Axminster power tools, worth looking at if it keeps your cost down. good hunting Brian

Docupton
Hi, I'm a bit like you in a way, I too am self taught with a little help from online videos and chat sites, I have so far tried all types of scrolling from small gifts to clocks and signs, at present i am enjoying making portraits but i definitely need more practice at converting photos to patterns, its not as easy as it looks, All the best, Doc.
