Popular Post Scrappile
Some of my greatest memories from when young, were the time spent Jack Rabbit hunting. Walking through miles of sagebrush, cheatgrass and around cactus. Driving my Dad's old jeep through the same with buddies on the front fenders, and on the roof, hunting Jack Rabbits. My Favorite of all my hunting experiences. This place was over run with them.. Then the farms moved in and the farmer did not appreciate feeding their crops to the Jack Rabbits. So they started poisoning them. Now days I get more excited seeing a Jack Rabbit than I do a deer, fox, coyote, or wild turkey. They are almost all gone. So when I received my Woodworker's Pattern Book by Jacob and Wayne Fowler, and saw this pattern of a Jack Rabbit, I stopped all other projects and cut it. My memorial to Mr and Misses Jack Rabbit. "Thanks For The Memories" Cut in Monkey Pod. Added a little of a dramatic background for affect. meflick, Charlie E, RabidAlien and 12 others
Ron Johnson
Very beautiful work Paul. My first experience hunting was hunting rabbits; and it was my last hunting any animal.

My son lives in Memphis. We were discussing the other day, He has never seen a Wild rabbit of any kind in all the years he has lived there. I would think there would be lots of them. Gene Howe
When we lived in the mountains of Northern Arizona, we'd see oodles of Jack's. Down here, west of Tucson, it's only cute little cotton tails....and big ugly javalinas.

Probably depends how and where he is in Memphis. Memphis is a pretty large metropolitan area so if he’s more in town, might not be. I live outside of Knoxville more in the country. We regularly see a lot of wildlife. We are on a lake so lots of time they are going to or from the water. Besides rabbits, we regularly see deer (and have had a few encounters with some unfortunately .) Canadian geese (which I wish they would migrate back home, they seem to have decided they prefer the south year round and make quite a mess n the yard and on the dock) Fox, gophers, lots of different birds including typical birds (robins, wrens, bluebirds, etc.) plus osprey, blue herons, and we even had a river otter once hanging out on the boat dock. one time, we even had a bill wandering around when he escaped his field down the road.
