Welcome back.

Acrylic paint, applied directly on BB ply will raise the grain and leave a pretty rough surface, so prepping with a sanding sealer or even a coat of shellac will help achieve a smoother finish.  It might take an extra coat or two of the paint to get good coverage, but it will be worth it.

welcome back.  I have had the problem logging in here and I texted to Travis and he got me back on board. Glad you found your  way back. I am happy you sent the question as I have been struggling to paint  some of my BB Ply to and  always end up disappointed with my efforts. Now I  know why because of you. Thank you for  your  help.
