Barj Posted July 27, 2023 Report Posted July 27, 2023 I used to be a member here but forgot log in stuff so started this new account. I have a question because I've forgotten stuff. Before I paint my BB ply project, should I apply sanding sealer first? I'm going to use acrylic paint. thanks. Quote
Bill WIlson Posted July 27, 2023 Report Posted July 27, 2023 Welcome back. Acrylic paint, applied directly on BB ply will raise the grain and leave a pretty rough surface, so prepping with a sanding sealer or even a coat of shellac will help achieve a smoother finish. It might take an extra coat or two of the paint to get good coverage, but it will be worth it. MarieC, Scrappile, Dan and 1 other 3 1 Quote

heppnerguy Posted July 29, 2023 Report Posted July 29, 2023 welcome back. I have had the problem logging in here and I texted to Travis and he got me back on board. Glad you found your way back. I am happy you sent the question as I have been struggling to paint some of my BB Ply to and always end up disappointed with my efforts. Now I know why because of you. Thank you for your help.
