redwine
You would think that as long as this saw has been manufactured that the company would have devised a way of holding up the top arm to change blades, move the work piece to feed the blade into next hole or what ever needs to be done with out resorting to coming up with home made apparatuses to do the job! Your item is a neat way to do the job but just saying...... Erv
Gene Howe
I finally resorted to installing the Lifter from Papa's Workshop. It's really handy. Edited September 7, 2023 by Gene Howe Roberta Moreton
jimmyG
It's sad Dewalt customers have to purchase or make essential items for their products...
kmmcrafts
DeWalts are a very nice saw for the money.. however I do agree that they should have come up with something to hold that arm up.. Especially when there is similar designed Delta and WEN saws that have something integrated into the saw to hold the arm up.. Bill WIlson
A lot of guys used to tighten the bolt that connects the arm to the frame. Kinda similar to how the Excalibur works. I had always heard that there was a risk of damaging the Dewalt that way, but not sure why. I had a Jim Dandy EZ Lift on my Dewalt for years and would not want to be without it. Should Dewalt incorporate some OEM solution to the "problem"? Maybe, but I imagine they don't necessarily see it as a problem.

Is that your pattern Jimmy? - Well Done. .Would you consider sharing that pattern? I'm a DeWalt owner, and cannot disagree with any of the comments that this is a shortcoming of this machine. .
