Is there such a thing as a generic jig saw pieces pattern that can be used on any picture?

I have done several jig saw puzzles all free hand, no pattern. My avatar of a King Charles Spaniel was my first puzzle done freehand.

I'd considered trying it free hand but, as a novice, I'm more comfortable with a pattern.

Do you use Inkscape? There is a free extension for it that makes jigsaw puzzles.

You can make your own and select the size you want and how big of pieces, piece styles and many other custom options at this link.. Us laser guys cheat as the scrolling community would say.  I'm not sure if this is the one I used in the past or if it was a different one.. There's many different programs to do this exact thing and you can search them by google searching laser jigsaw puzzle filemaker if you want to look for something different..
