Well I ordered a GROSS of FDUR#1 blades last year from Mikes Workshop.  Always

have gone to there.  Anyway my Memory makes me remember $3.90 per Dozen then.

Now they are Near the almost a Couple Bucks More!  So my Inquiry will be about

buying Scroll Saw Blades.  Any advice?  I still have a dozen or so still, so no Rush.  :+}

At least blades give you service. My issue lately has been with wood. My only outlet for wood in my rural area is Lowe's. Spending hours cutting a piece only to have it ruined when you remove the pattern and it delaminates. Just ordered a few pieces of wood from Ocooch to see if their quality is better than Lowe's.

I agree with RJ. Denny at artcraftersonline.com has served me well with his customer service as well as pricing. I've spoken to him several times and he's always eager to assist. I recently had to order some 3/0 blades which Pegas doesn't make and used another business. When they arrived, the blades were in an envelope and sometime during shipment had been bent in the middle. Guess where those blades would break. Denny secures his blades on a sturdy cardboard before placing inside the envelope. Plus, with a certain amount you get free shipping.

Thanks for your comments.  Rodney I agree with how you feel about Lowes.

They sell just Birch Plywood.  I started with them Long, long ago.  Now I only

use that for Backers on many.  The Scrolling part of cutting a Pattern is a take

a chance for maybe running into a Void in the wood.  Terrble Sound when you

are Happily cutting and run into one.  In time I Knew what that meant.  Anyway

I did talk to Denny and he was nice enough to send me a Starter pack.  I Really

Really did give them a Chance using them, but just to Aggressive for my way of

cutting.  Been with FDUR#1 for many years.  Only blade I ever use.  Anyway I will just have to BITE THE BULLET so to speak and pay the Higher cost.  BooHoo.  Danny :+}

I just looked and the gross is still $3.20 per doz.  The 1 - 5 is $4.21 which I think is up.

My go to blade is the FDUR#1.  I have tried and the MGTs and they are little more aggressive and I don't think they are as smooth on interior cuts.

And a Big Thank You's to All....  I did do some Investigating and after all I was drawn

back to My Old Time Place....Mikes Workshop....  Broke down to where the cost

difference from last year wasn't much more.  I Did order the #1POLAR from Advice

from a Special Friend................Can't wait to give them a try.  Danny  :+}

I just got back to scrolling after a couple years off and too was shocked by the price of blades.  I like the Pegas straight blades but don't care for their spirals at all and have always liked the FD New Spiral.  I found on Charles Dearing's website that he has a deal with wooden teddy bear to get %15 off FD blades and I used that.  BB Plywood is a whole other stress.  I'm still in shock over the prices now.  No more stack cutting for me.
