Docupton
Would someone be good enough to tell me what i am doing wrong please. I have had my EX21 for about a week now and already need new blades, firstly i have trouble clamping into the top blade holder takes me 3 or 4 times to get it clamped, secondly after doing just a few internal cuts, releasing and reclamping the bottom clamp, the blade is kinked so badly i cannot get it through the drill hole, I know i must be doing something wrong, but what? help needed please. northampton scroller
Hi You have same prob as everyone, the grub screw opp clamp screw is loose. take blade out and tighten clamp.then tighten clamp screw up this should fix it. I take mine out and fit back with loctite this seems to work. Nice to have another UK scroller on board. I have had my ex21 for about eight months now and it is a high maintenance saw. if you have anymore probs drop me an e mail. oldscroller@hotmail .co.uk. Xray
Blade tips getting kinked is hard to avoid, and will happen with any machine. You can reduce the problem by trying not to over tighten. I keep a little pair of snips next to my saw, when they can't be straightened out, snip em off.
tvman44
For one thing do not over tighten the knob.
Terry Jay
Just a suggestion... Use a very stiff blade. Back off the set screws a turn both top and bottom, then lightly clamp the stiff blade both top and bottom, then firmly tighten the left hand set screws top and bottom. May need to repeat the bottom every few days. Use of Blue loctite will help The bottom clamp is the one that always slips or deforms the blade, but it is operated 30+ times as often as the top clamp. Periodically remove both sides top and bottom and put what you took out of the top in the bottom and the bottom in the top. The end of the T-screw has a machined part that is replaceable. A set of the replaceable tip and the opposing set screw can be purchased from Seyco for $12. When slippage becomes intolerable the replacement parts will solve the problem.
