Just finished this beautiful patter by Russ Beard, double stack cut on 4mm Birch Plywood using a #0 Niqua straight pin less blade. Needs to be varnished and framed. I have cut another five Russ Beard pattern but I’m not ready to post them yet.

My workshop is in turmoil at the moment as we are packing and relocating to Cape Town, South Africa. So I’m very limited as to what I can do at the moment.

Love doing these Fretwork Complex cuts, gives me great satisfaction.IMG_4788.thumb.jpeg.795b293dfcdb54f648a87f83de2f02ba.jpeg

The eyes really get your attention.

Very well done.  Hope you repost it after you get it framed.  Beautiful.  What did you use for coloring.  Stain? Paint?

Scrappile I used a local product here in South Africa, the Leopard received one coat of Medium Oak and the tree was Antique Oak also just one coat. I feel I got the counting I had in mind based on the hundreds of photographs I have of them. Depending on the area the could be a colour variance.

That is beautiful.  Did you carve the tree branch that the Leopard is on or did you scroll saw it and added a dark backer board?  Again really nice work!

Marie, it’s all one scroll saw pattern, and the Leopard and tree were stained with a local product we get here in South Africa. The Leopards colouring can vary from area to area.
