Hi Guys,

just started getting into this scroll swing malarky, think im liking it too,

now im retired have a some time on my hands, had a scroll saw for years gathering dust after trying it and thought something was wrong with it not cutting striaght , so decided its time to play,

found out if you use a decent blade it gets better, and take your time, so maybe i will post some of the results,

cheers Misty

Welcome form North Carolina. Blades can make a big difference on cutting along a line. Even the same brand and size may differ slightly. Practice, practice, practice. You'll get the hang of it. Yes, we love seeing pictures.

Welcome aboard!! Here's a tip for you that I gave recently, that you might find helpful as you learn the craft.

One of the tricks I learned is to try and cut as much as possible with the "waste" area to the right of my blade.  I use Flying Dutchman and noticed that it favors the right side, and that's where it will drift to. I find I have the best control and best lines using this rule.  Plus, if I screw up, most of the time it will be in the waste area and not the "live" area.

Another welcome from Colorado. You will be surprised the amount of help you will receive from the folks here. Like you, I too had a scroll saw for years and would use it occasionally. Not until I retired did it spend time really learning this craft. Still learning.
