konafiend
Does anyone know of any common electrical problems w/ dewalt dw788 type 1? It is not the fuse. The ohmeter says the problem is not in the switch. Thanks Gene
chippygeoff
I have a MK1 788/I have had it for about 15 years now and bought it here in the UK. They are no longer sold here. Soon after I bought it I had an electrical problem and it went back to the supplier twice. It was just a simple thing. I had to use a surge protector, the same thing people use with their computers. I never had a problem since and now all my scroll saws and other light stuff are plugged into surge protectors.
konafiend
That is a good point Chippy. The saw has an electronic board and probably should be protected that way. I did find the problem. The black wire coming from the potentiometer came off the board. It must have been loose and finally vibrated off.
