Popular Post Denny Knappen Posted October 16, 2023 Popular Post Report Posted October 16, 2023 Layered Snowflake Ornament #1 pattern by Keith Fenton and found in SWWC Winter issue page 72. I stack cut two blanks 1/4" x 4" square for each top (Ash) and back (Eastern Red Cedar}. I found the Eastern Red Cedar is too fragile and broke when sanding, so I balanced by cutting off every other little piece. Cut on the Pegas Scroll Saw using #1 MGT blades. After sanding, dipped in diluted Shellac and the one coat of spray Lacquer Clear Gloss. Comments welcome. ChelCass, artisanpirate, barb.j.enders and 17 others 20 Quote
Scrappile Posted October 16, 2023 Report Posted October 16, 2023 Very nice. Would not have noticed missing pieces had you not mentioned them. One could make them 3 layered so they would look the same no matter which way they turn when hanging. Quote
rjweb Posted October 16, 2023 Report Posted October 16, 2023 Excellent job Denny, looking forward for to seeing the others, RJ Quote

For some reason it never occurred to me to use a backer board on an ornament. A great idea and love it Dick heppnerguy Quote
Denny Knappen Posted October 18, 2023 Author Report Posted October 18, 2023 Thanks Dick. Not my idea. Keith Fenton has patterns for both top and bottom. heppnerguy 1 Quote
Matthew Simmons Posted October 20, 2023 Report Posted October 20, 2023 @heppnerguy Sheila Landry has a bunch of layered ornament patterns like that. If you want to make some, you have many many (very fiddly) options. Quote
