konafiend
I generally use Olson #64502, Universal #5R, Width .038", Thickness .016", 13/7TPI Blade. The blade has a few reverse teeth at the bottom. Sometimes I use a # 3R for tighter work or a blade with slightly larger teeth with no reverse teeth for thicker/harder wood. With fretwork on 1/2 inch maple these blades don't seem to be working so well. I just ordered the Flying Dutchman assortment from Mike. Any suggestions? Travis
I don't use Olson, but if you had Flying Dutchman, I'd probably step up to a more aggressive blade like the #5 FD Scroll Reverse. A skip tooth blade might work well for you too.
WolfmoonCT
I use Olson.. I have not done 1/2" maple, but I am regularly cutting 3/8" ash and I'm using a #2/0 scroll reverse blade with no issues. I did stack cutting of 1/4" maple last fall doing 2 in a stack and I used a #2 scroll reverse from Olson, and had no issues.
