Popular Post Iguanadon
Hey everyone! It's been a while and I'm glad to see some familiar names and a whole bunch of new ones! A couple of months ago I had a dog related retail shop reach out to me asking if I'd be interested in displaying some of my items for sale. I was very upfront with her, told that I've done it 3 times before and it simply didn't work out. Apparently my sales pitch and charm are what sell them at craft events. Seriously, in retail stores they've never done well. The puzzles need to be shrink wrapped so that pieces don't get scattered around and folks don't grasp and comprehend the concept of them. But... this time, some mild success as she has sold about 8 or 9 puzzles and a leash rack or two in the past month with holiday shoppers. Considering I sell 40-50 or more at a 1 day craft event, I won't be giving up that part of my fun. LOL I hope everyone is doing well, especially my beloved Puzzle Zombies. kmmcrafts
Congrats on some store success, I too have tried the in store markets and had hit or miss results. That said, Two houses down from me is a dog kennel.. yeah maybe I'm lucky or not for having a neighbor in the dog boarding business.. Anytime I take some down to them and put in their office ( drop off / pick up area for the pet owners ) I sell out immediately.. You might try reaching out to some kennels in your local area and see if you can place some sample puzzles / leash holders there. The downside is the kennel operator should be mindful of where to put the samples so some wild puppies don't knock them down or? as some dogs get pretty wild as you may know, LOL.. Jim McDonald
Great to see you back around and doing okay. I tried the consignment deal with my state quarter magnets and it was a bit hit the first month, then turned into a steamy pile after that. Denny Knappen
Being a retail store that sells art and craft, the ones that seems to sell more are the ones that hang around the store to explain their craft just like you do at the craft fairs. When someone stops by my booth at ArtCrafters, I try to meet them and explain scrolling. It helps to have the Pegas Scroll Saw in the store. heppnerguy
So glad you do so well with your animal puzzles. You have made quite the name for yourself with these and I am always overjoyed when I see the success for someone using their scroll saw work.
