Popular Post Foxfold Posted January 20, 2024 Popular Post Report Posted January 20, 2024 (edited) Decided to try cutting acrylic and it worked out well. Although this was 3mm, A4 sheet of acrylic but it felt like cutting 6mm, you had to let the blade do the work. I used a #3 Niqua blade and had no problems with any melting that I had anticipated. So all in all quite a good experience. Not easy to photograph though as it's so reflective. Edited January 20, 2024 by Foxfold jollyred, jr42, Fab4 and 16 others 19 Quote

Denny Knappen Posted January 20, 2024 Report Posted January 20, 2024 Very well done. When I cut acrylic, I used a Pegas #3 Supper Skip blade. Foxfold 1 Quote
meflick Posted January 21, 2024 Report Posted January 21, 2024 Nice job Brenda. The only time I cut acrylic, it was for oval blanks for a “doggie bank” I made a great niece a couple years ago. No where near as detailed as your handsome dog here. Foxfold 1 Quote
barb.j.enders Posted January 21, 2024 Report Posted January 21, 2024 Great cutting. Looks awesome Foxfold 1 Quote
goldfish Posted January 21, 2024 Report Posted January 21, 2024 I find it you put masking tape on the front and back of the sheet it helps to stop the melting effect. Foxfold 1 Quote
MarieC Posted January 21, 2024 Report Posted January 21, 2024 Brenda, Really nice work. Are you going to put a backer on it, if so what type, or something else like hang it in a window? Quote

This had some kind of plastic film on both sides so I'm presuming that is what helped with the cutting Quote

As my walls are 'cream' I find I quite like the effect. Haven't got a photo of it on the wall but here's one I cut out of wood that's already up. Mark SW Posted January 23, 2024 Report Posted January 23, 2024 Nicely done Brenda. So how would you hang that? You would need a frame, yes? Or could you use eye hooks on the top? Quote
