Original Somerville Excalibur

Been looking to "upgrade" my shop with a used saw.  Bumped into an original Somerville Excalibur.  Any thoughts / opinions on this saw?  Looks like a tilting table, not a tilting arm.

Any help is appreciated

Unless it's in super shape and a really good deal I wouldn't buy it. Many parts for these are obsolete so keep that in mind.

It is a very old machine and like Kevin said, parts may be hard to come by.

I would not pay money for it. I was offered one for free a year ago and turned it down.

Wow Bob. I take most anything if it's free. If for no other reason than the challenge of making it work. I guess that's why I have such a large collection of crap. Sigh, I'm a hoarder.

Thanks everyone.  Picked up a used Hawk 220 VS Ultra today.  Looking forward to cleaning it up a bit and getting to the cutting.

Good deal. Now post a few pics so we can see what you bought. There are many things to be concerned about on Hawks.

Awesome!! Those Hawk Ultras are good saws.. not much issues with those.. the earlier saws yes there were some issues with those saws for sure.. even though those issues are what I would say kind of rare anyway considering the thousands of them out there.. I think Hawk really made a lot of improvements in quality and reliability starting with the Ultra..
