F-4 Phantom

The Phantom is a large fighter with a top speed of over Mach 2.2. It can carry more than 18,000 pounds of weapons on nine eternal hardpoints, including air-to- air missiles, air-to-ground missiles, and various bombs. The F-4, like other interceptors of its time, was initially designed without an internal cannon. Later models incorporated an M61 Vulcan rotary cannon. Beginning in 1959, it set 15 world records for in-flight performance, including an absolute speed record and an absolute altitude record.

I sorry. . . I just had a flash of improvement.  Make and orange piece that velcros on the back of the engine.   So the kids can turn on after burners.

Great job on the F-4. Love the contrasting colors. Saw alot of them while I was stationed in Germany in the late 60's.

I'm wondering Ron, does everything you touch turn into beautiful artwork?   They would be a hit in an art gallery.  Those are really nice.   Although I was not stationed in Viet Nam, I was in country many times delivering supplies for the war effort.  I was always amazed watching these beautiful planes take off.  To be honest I was envious of the pilots.  Beautiful work.

I worked on the F4 flight simulator for several years in Germany and in England, Loved that airplane.

Your work touched on some fun memories.  I worked on Phantoms at two overseas duty stations.  Of the many different airframes I had the opportunity to work on, they were my favorite and most challenging.  Nice work Ron!
