Train Depot Clock Done

I have finally finished my clock with some pictures on Photobucket. It was a lot of fun. I am retired so I took some time doing it. I think it was 3 months about 2 or 4 hours on some days. I made some changes on the construction for wiring it which made it a lot easier. I purchased the plans from The Art Factory and the lumber from Ocooch Hardwoods and both were very helpful. I am willing to answer any questions and thanks for looking and I hope the link works.

I thank all of you so much for all the great comments. I enjoyed this project so much that I just had to share it with everybody. It is prettty easy to build but you need a table saw because of the many square parts. I have become friends with Ben12 over this project. We were building it together using E-Mails and we are going to meet each other in the future. I make pens with my son and we do a few shows so I had to fit this in and it was well worth it. If anybody is going to build the clock in the future feel free to ask any questions you might have. Thanks again RichB

Thanks again everyone.  I am now working on the Apostles Clock.  I know for a fact it will take a lot longer then the Train Depot.  Retirement gives me a lot of time.  My wife is working her last day today.  She loves to paint.  We are going to try and work her painting with scrolling.  We enjoy the sounds on the Train Depot every day.

I have recently finished a Music Box in the shape of a dressing table, which I thought was good.It did not take that long to complete. The train depot clock is probably the finest project that  I  have ever seen. I take that you still have steam locos I am very jealous of the sounds that you hear daily.I too have retired ( 2003 ) and also have the time to enjoy this great hobby of ours.

thanks for finding the post. I was glad to see it. I have the pattern but it is in a small pile that I have named the Scares me to death to do. Now maybe I will move it to the to do list. did you  get the sound and light kits. Your work is so great. I like that you were willing to show your plan of making. Thanks.

Yes I did get the sound and lights.  It was fun fitting all of the electronics in the depot.  If you look at my pictures I try-ed to show everyone how I did it.  I also made the top removable which helped.  The lights only work when you turn them on to show the clock.  The sounds go on  each hour with a photo electric cell.  This shuts the sound off at night.  I am glad to help with any other questions.  RichB

Amazingkevin,  I just got back from a trip and noticed your comments.  Thanks to all.  I could send it out to you but then I would have to build another.  I am working on the Apostles Clock now and that will take a long time, and  my wife says no way will the Depot Clock leave the house.  I am so glad everyone who saw the pictures enjoyed them.  I hope to do the same thing with the Apostles Clock but it will take longer.  Thanks again to everyone.   RichB
