Hi. I am in the UK as well and most of us buy the flying Dutchman blades from Mikes workshop. I don't know what your cutting but in my opinion the best blades are the ultra reverse. They leave a smooth side to the cut and very little fuzziness on the bottom. Just type in "Mikes workshop" into the search engine and his site will come up.

I'd suggest Mike's Workshop too. It sounds like he ships to the UK. He's a really great guy, so if you have any blade questions, be sure to pick his brain. He's really quick to respond and a pleasure to work with. I personally use the Scroll Reverse blades in #3, #5, and #7. I also use his spiral blades #3 as well for portrait cutting. You can check out his variety pack too, which has a nice sampling of blades.

Welcome to the hobby!

I'm going to do portraits of people first then start making wooden toys. Barely used my scroll saw as I'm suppose to be building a brand new shed from scratch (Just waiting for the rain to go away!) I do Joinery for a living but its hard trying to get started of at 24, Done my apprenticeship was suppose to get with a good company but the recession knocked it down. So I'm going to see where scroll sawing gets me :)

Thanks for the reply I'll be buying some blades from mikes workshop.

Welcome to the village and to scrolling!! I am in the lower 48, more presise, New Mexico! You will not find a better blade than the Flying Dutch brand and you will not get any better service than with Mikes workshop!!

I hope that scroll sawing will bring you lots of bussiness, but none the less have fun with it!!
