edward
Does anyone use 1/4" basswood for their projects instead of 1/4" Baltic Birch, if so is it good to work with, thanks for any info. OCtoolguy
Wichman
These are ornaments cut from 1/8" basswood (hobby lobby) it cuts well and as you can see, will take details without falling apart. Use it 1/8 up to 3/4 and get clean easy cuts.
Norm Fengstad
I use basswood mostly for carving as it is softer wood and cuts easily with a sharp carving tool., It also cuts very good on a scroll saw. since it is close a grained wood it is quite strong and takes paint and clear finish very well. If there is a down side to Bass wood that would be not much grain to it. Baltic birch would be a bit stronger and less prone to breaking. Denny Knappen
I find that Basswood leaves a lot of fuzzies. jimmyG
