Insane Dust Maker
Having read all the post about finishing process, I tried the recommended BLO and Mineral Spirits 50/50 mix and am quite impressed with the finish, I do however have a question for my scroll saw friends what can I add to this mix to darken it to a more Golden Color, almost like the Danish Golden Oak Oil which has become ridiculously expensive here. Sycamore67
You could add polyurethane to your mix. I do not use BLO due the the fire hazard.

Dave Monk
You could stain first.
JTTHECLOCKMAN
What wood are you using? BLO is an oil and most light woods will get a warm yellow glow from it to begin with. If you add poly to the mix you then basically are making a Danish oil. I assume you do not want to buy Danish oil (yes it has increased in price) but sometimes the effort to make your own is more trouble than worth. A little does go a long way. You could try walnut oil instead of BLO. Add some stain to the mix is another suggestion. But do not use water based and oils together. I’m using it on Baltic Birch Plywood, staying South Africa Danish Oil is expensive here and I must find a suitable replacement.
