Brian Swope Posted May 15 Report Share Posted May 15 Good day Everyone, Just got me a Excalibur-21 and was really excited to get started scrolling but have found a problem with the saw. When I start up the saw and the blade is running the lower blade clamp is hitting the lower blade guard. I have tried to bend it up out of the way but have had no luck, has anyone ever run into this problem, or have a solution to fix this? Thanks in advanced for any help with this problem. NC Scroller Posted May 16 Report Share Posted May 16 First remove the guards, top and bottom. Then put a blade in and tension it. Next turn the large knob in the back until the blade is perpendicular to the table. If it still is a problem your saw may be defective. hotshot Posted May 16 Report Share Posted May 16 Adding to Scott's comment, there is one other change related to blade travel. It won't fix a "collision issue" but it is important in relation to adjusting the "aggressiveness of the cut". Don't do this unless you are getting a lot of foward and back motion, after the arm is leveled. Loosen the bolts around the motor, with speed at it's lowest setting, turn the motor until yout find the sweetspot, where the blade forward and back motion is least. Brian Swope Posted May 17 Author Report Share Posted May 17 Thanks to all who replied, I have made sure that the upper arm is parallel to the table and if I lift the lower blade guard it's fine. So I think I will follow the trend and remove it as i can't see it being to dangerous.
