Very nice Barb!  I suspect that the designer would prefer that you use different woods, that is taking artistic license.

I have the same problem, wood choices that are different, takes me way too long to settle on "my" choices. Looks great! Excellent choices in wood!

When I tried a butterfly it was the first intarsia project I did. It is hard to get each piece to fit. Especially the short ones near the bottom.

Looking at yours it looks beautiful. So it is natural to say it is easy to do. But because each piece fits smoothly it is just the opposite of easy.  I know better.

Wood choices are superb.  Zebra wood is great to get the butterfly texture.  And butternut to get a bit of orange.  Well done.

I had to cut the body three times to get a decent fit.  The wings slid a bit in glue-up.
