Hi, new to scrollsawing, but have done woodworking. My daughter is getting married, and would like a wedding tree. I believe it's a tree cut like a jigsaw with guests signing individual pieces. If you could recommend a pattern, type of wood, solid or ply,any comments or help would be appreciated. Thanks Bob

I don't thing I've seen a tree, but I've seen some people use a wedding photograph and cut it up into a jigsaw puzzle. Guests would sign the pieces just like you mentioned. Might want to do a couple puzzles, depending on the number of guests. I'd mount it to baltic birch plywood (poplar plywood is also common with puzzles). I'd just use some spray adhesive that is designed for photos and artwork and follow the instructions for a permanent bond.

On a google search this is the only Puzzle type wedding tree I found. http://www.etsy.com/listing/84681655/we ... pe=gallery

Several other wedding tree guest books were simply a tree shape with lots of oval shapes representing leaves on which the guests put their names on the leaves. (all the links were excessively long but you can search Wedding Tree Guest Book for examples).

One other alternative I found has real potted branches and the guests are given small slips of paper or cards to write their special wishes on such as this example http://www.mydiyweddingday.com/2009/04/ ... -tree.html

God Bless! Spirithorse

Not sure if they have what you are searching for but check with "the wooden teddy bear. com" they have an extensive selection of different patterns and are excellent to work with. I did a Wedding Plaque" for my niece and it turned out excellent. I used Red Oak that I purchased from Lowes or Home depot, not 100% sure which one. Used this hard wood to eliminate warping.
