John M Posted July 27, 2024 Report Posted July 27, 2024 I don't do many religious items but started to make theese small crosses. A few simple designs and nothing fancy. Various woods and sizes of each design. JackJones, Charlie E, Wichman and 3 others 6 Quote
Charlie E Posted July 27, 2024 Report Posted July 27, 2024 Nice work. My father-in-law passed away with cancer a year or so ago. Someone at one of his treatment centers gave my wife a cross like these made of olive wood and it means a lot to her. She had me drill it so she could hang it from her mirror. Quote
sydknee Posted July 28, 2024 Report Posted July 28, 2024 Never religious myself but I do like these. Nicely finished heppnerguy 1 Quote
TAIrving Posted July 28, 2024 Report Posted July 28, 2024 Very nice sentiment. I might have to do some of these myself, know some people I could give them to. Quote
heppnerguy Posted July 29, 2024 Report Posted July 29, 2024 pocket crosses were very popular in the little town I used to live in called Heppner. I man made what he called pocket crosses with the idea of giving them to anyone who had lost a friend or family to let them know they were not alone in their problems and others supported them, even some they knew not so very well. The cross was a reminder of the careful person that gave it to them and told them to carry it in their pocket as a reminder that Christ died for them because he cared and loved them too. He also asked them to pass it along to someone that might need a little encouragement and caring also. I loved the idea and started making pocket angels to give to others, myself. I think they are very nice and people who receive them seem to love that someone else cared enough about what they were going through at the time to give it to them. Dick heppnerguy JackJones 1 Quote
