Popular Post sydknee Posted August 7, 2024 Popular Post Report Posted August 7, 2024 My father was a Blacksmith. He started his apprenticeship when aged 14 and worked until aged 65. A kind hearted man with a will as strong as the iron he worked. He had five sons and to his disappointment only one followed in his footsteps. I was’t the one as I went to sea when I was 15 and since then have worked countless (over 30) different jobs in different countries. as per usual I used all recycled wood. meflick Posted August 7, 2024 Report Posted August 7, 2024 (edited) Welcome. Nice piece. My husband's great grandfather was a blacksmith. We still have a few things from his shop including a ledger where he kept track of the work he did along with a bench. Edited August 7, 2024 by meflick sydknee 1 Quote

spirithorse Posted August 7, 2024 Report Posted August 7, 2024 Well done and your write-up and scroll saw project together are a fine tribute to your father. God Bless! Spirithorse sydknee 1 Quote
Charlie E Posted August 10, 2024 Report Posted August 10, 2024 Nice job on a sentimental piece! Love how the grain in the backer works with it. Quote
