Bzern
I have an iPhone 4, and I have seen several different types of wood cases made for them. I picked up some 1/16th inch cherry to make one, does anybody have any plans I could purchase or use? I think I could scroll saw one where the phone slides into the top, or I could try to have the top part slide on top with a tongue and groove joint, but it is only a sixteenth inch so I do not have much wood to work with. If anybody has any ideas or suggestions I would appreciate it. Thanks a bunch, Ben
mikesscrollsaw
I've seen those they look cool but being so thin I wonder how durable they really are. Sorry no plans but I'm interested to see what you come up with.
Travis
Mosst of those are made with very accurate CNC routers. I would rough it out with a scroll saw and "impregnate" it with resin in order to strengthen the wood. Then I'd sand to your final dimensions. If you get it to work, I'd love to see a pic of what you came up with. I'm also wondering if you can use several layers of veneer to go around the edge of the phone rather than cutting it with a scroll saw. Might be more stable that way. Bzern
Thanks for the advice, do you think I could use CA glue to strengthen it? I have seen it done with veneer, I might try that. Thanks a bunch, Ben
