Strange compound cut cartoon stork

A few years back I found a pattern for a raindeer I liked and the book of patterns that it was in contained a couple of these strange but neat animals.  Cut from pine about 3 1/2 inches tall glued to a white cedar slice.  Finished with shellac.

That's neat, I made one similar, but the tail and head feather thing were simpler on mine. Thanks for sharing
