For size thing place something recognizable next to it. You see this alot on FB. This seems to be the best way. In one or two of the photos, I usually use a ruler for my toys. BadBob
I ordered one of those wire ornament stands to try. It seems to be the best bet.
kmmcrafts
I don't think it'll work if you put the ornament stand on a turntable.. seems like the stand will be a distraction at certain angles.. now if you get the stand and get a spinner device to have hang onto the stand and then hang the ornament on the spinner device I think would work better so that way the whole stand isn't spinning. All the stands I've seen are offset and using just the stand on a turntable would be bringing the ornament different distances and likely cause issue with your camera focus. Maybe I'm not understanding what you have in mind. Edited September 16 by kmmcrafts
BadBob
I'm hoping the ornament stand will let me center the ornament on the turntable. If I don't like the results, I'll try the spinner. I'm working off the rule that says to do the cheap, easy stuff first. For still shots, I have been using a dowel on top of two pieces of 2x4. kmmcrafts
