Popular Post Fish Posted September 23, 2024 Popular Post Report Posted September 23, 2024 I got some more cherry so I cut another. I tried the 321 finish but it didn’t come out very nice so I used spray polyurethane for the finish. I’ve done this in cherry before and another in worm eaten oak from an old barn. I’ll sell this one at the store also. It’s a Steve Good pattern. Thanks for looking. jollyred, TAIrving, OCtoolguy and 21 others 23 1 Quote

rdatelle Posted October 1, 2024 Report Posted October 1, 2024 That came out great. I might have to try and do one for my granddaughter. Yhose letters look pretty small to cut. Fish 1 Quote
rdatelle Posted October 1, 2024 Report Posted October 1, 2024 Does anyone have the name of this pattern by Steve Good. I can't find it. Quote

Thanks, I was looking for that shape. I found the rectangle one. I like the one he did with the cross. Quote
Fish Posted October 5, 2024 Author Report Posted October 5, 2024 My wife drew the board shape and just added the cross to the top. Steve’s pattern centered comes out pretty good. Quote
Blaughn Posted October 15, 2024 Report Posted October 15, 2024 Well done! Plaques are my area of interest. Finishing the plaques has been my area of frustration. By the time you get to finishing you have hours of work invested in that wood and a poor finish can really screw it up. I have tried Danish oil (Takes forever), Polyurethane, Lacquer (too plastic looking), and now I have settled on French Polishing with Shellac. French Polishing always sounded exotic and I assumed it was only for experts. I was wrong. It isn't difficult and the results are spectacular. There are many youtube videos on French Polishing and it is ideal for finishing plaques. If anyone is interested, I will post my method and some picture of the results. Bruce Quote
