Hudson River Rick
Once again, I am asking my INKSCAPE firends for help. The box below started to appear on my screen recently. It pops up when I try to save something that I am working on, in this case, it was a picture of entwined wedding rings that I am trying to change the photo to a red line drawing. I don't even know if that is possible, I am pretty much computer illiterate, I guess I was born 78 years too soon. I thank you in advance for any assistance. The title of the box is WMF Output. Rick I believe you are trying to save the file as a "Windows meta file", .wmf; inkscape will try to save as the last file type that was used. When you go to save the file, at the first screen go to the "save as type" box and select "inkscape SVG (*.svg) ". This should put you on the right path. Hudson River Rick
@Wichman Thank you Wichman. I actually did try to save it as "inkscape SVG (*.svg) ". When I hit save, inkscape comes back and says there already is a file that exists under that name, then asks if I would like to over ride it, when I say yes, it appears to be saved, but I can't find the file anywhere. This didn't happen until the WMF box appeared some time ago, that makes me think that somewhere along the line, these chubby little fingers of mine hit a wrong key. Thank you for trying to clear me up. OCtoolguy

Thank you for trying to clear me up. Have you tried the File > open recent. Option? That will show the last file you worked on. If there is a file with the name already there then "save as" and add a 1 to the file name. OCtoolguy
Hudson River Rick
@Wichman Thank you again, I will try that tomorrow. I'm going to pop open a cold Sammy Adams "Octoberfest" and watch my N.Y. YANKEES. They're back home at the STADIUM, so I hope they will go 2 up tonight. Rick Wichman and OCtoolguy
