Popular Post Hawk
In my exploration of adding color to my scrollsaw projects, and trying something new, I took an actual stained glass pattern and cut it with ⅛ ply and filling it with acrylic in place of the stained glass This time I stained one side darker that the other. So what do you think? Light or dark wood? Chris Scrappile, JackJones, ChelCass and 8 others 10
jollyred
Personally, I like the light stain better. Both are very good looking. Tom danny, JJB and Hawk 2

Michael B.
Wow! Those look terrific. If I had to choose, I like the light color better. It pops better with the other colors. barb.j.enders and Hawk 1
Millwab
Definitely the light Hawk
Hawk
It's actually 2 sides of the same project, I think of it as a sun catcher, looks the same from both sides. But it seems that the preferred side is the light (natural color) wood side. My wife agrees with all of you! FrankEV

JJB
Yep I like the light as well. Makes the colors pop better than the dark. Hawk

Hawk
It's nice of you all to agree with my wife (lol) I must admit I prefer the natural (light) side also. But it had been in the back of my mind "hmmmm, I wonder what a dark stain would look like?" Which is why I had to try. Now I know, and knowing is half the battle! Jim McDonald
I like the light visually, but the dark really changes the color saturation of the inlays. Hawk
Denny Knappen
Sure looks great on both sides. What did you use to cut the acrylic? Hawk
JTTHECLOCKMAN
Put me down for light also. The dark stain just drags down the vibrant colors of the glass. Let the glass do the talking. Nice job. Hawk
wombatie
They look terrific. Light for sure. Marg Hawk

I used my scrollsaw, kinda like cutting pieces for Intarsia, split the line! Also set the saw at a pretty low speed. The 2/0 blades seem to be the best, the more TPI the better. Anyhow that is what works for me.
