Popular Post barb.j.enders
I got this finished. It will be a gift for my daughter's partner. He is a huge watch fan. Pattern from the latest SSWC magazine. Cut from Cherry. Insert purchased on Amazon after not finding anything local. Had a few issues with the side cut on the buckle. Ended up using the belt sander instead of cutting. Used a #5 MG blade. Finish is 2 coats of Walrus Oil and one coat of beeswax/mineral oil. JTTHECLOCKMAN
I love it. I am a huge fan of those desk watches. Some people make them larger to use a wall decoration too. I have been making these ever since I seen the design in Wood magazine many years ago. they are fun and get lots of compliments. They are huge sellers for me at craft shows over the years. Hope you decide to make more. Not to step on your post but more for ideas for you, here is a couple I did over the years. You can make them themed by using different inserts. You can get inserts from Wildwood Designs or Cherry Tree whatever they call themselves these days. I do alot of the shaping on either the drum sander or a belt/disc sander and use the edge of the belt end. As I said I did not want to step on your posting but wanted to give a few ideas if you decide to include these in your program of sellers. They are a conversation piece for sure. Good luck. barb.j.enders

Is that pattern still around? Dang, that's nice. barb.j.enders

However, I am trying not to order from a US company. Our exchange rate is now more that $1.40 and the shipping fees tend to be outrageous. Also, our postal system is on strike, so no mail, making the shipping even more expensive.
