Marine Corps Desk Clock Pattern

Anyone know of a pattern for a small desk style clock? Or a pattern that could easily be made into a clock.

Guy at my local Post Office asked me what I make since I'm in there everyday dropping off packages.. so we got to talking and he asked if I had anything Marine Corps. I thought I did but nope, I have Army, Air Force, Navy, Coast Guard etc.. but nothing for Marines. I've done a little google searching but not finding much. Heading over to Steve Good's catalog to search right now.. But thought I'd ask here.. I'm sure there is something out there..

Kevin, I thought there was some copyright deal on the marines, maybe that's why you can't find any, RJ

Yeah there is.. also on all the other branches.. but it's mostly for the logo..  I just didn't know if there was like some generic type thing that didn't have the logo.

What about the USMC puzzle pattern like you did with the dog pattern?

I seen an image of the dog with stars on it.. Thought it looked like a pattern Scott would have but I couldn't find it.. Maybe I need to message Scott. I even looked on wooden teddy bear and there were some patterns there for the other military but I didn't see the Marines one. Do you know if Scott has that puzzle pattern?

Rick had them in his collection. The one I got yelled at for not making by a customer was the Coast Guard. Now I would have to add the Space X or whatever it is called. I added the clock to his pattern. He did not have that.

Yeah I have those patterns but something about them just didn't sit as well as the ones Sylvia ( The Saw Dust Mistress ) did, But she never did one for the Marines.. Remember Sylvia from the old MSN groups? She was quite the designer and made thousands of patterns for free on those groups back in the day. Sold a lot of those military clocks back in the day.. still get asked now and then for one but I no longer put them up on etsy.. since they started having AI scan the site for copyright / trademark stuff any words you use to describe something that could be a issue flags your item.. even if you're not violating anything they flag it and then you have to go through a whole appeals thing to get it back online.. a week later it's flagged again, LOL More hassle than it's worth even if I was a licensed seller I would be having to fight that all the time. Maybe they made the system smarter now and it remembers your listing isn't violating anything and skips it.. but still not worth it as every new listing you put up you'd have to go through the stupid process..

Steve Good also has a  few marine patterns, one is the emblem, another is Marine veteran plus a third one with the emblem in a circle which would make a nice clock plus a few more..  I remember Sylvia, she was in the same group I was in.  I'm sure I have several of her patterns. Would have to go thru all of my CD's to find them.

Anybody who has been scrolling for a long time remember Sylvia. She made me a few special patterns over the years. I asked her to make a bunch of designs for tops I started making when I got my lathe. Here is one of her designs and they were a hit with top seekers. I gave many of those away for years to kids when they came to my booth. Again combining 2 talents.

Navy was the most asked for from me. Do you have a photo of her military ones? Do not see it on your web site. Can't sell them if you do not show them.

I think Navy is also my most sold one.. Air Force is very close as well and maybe the top one. Done a fair amount of the Coast Guard too.. been asked many times for Marines but I've never made or sold one.

They are not on the site because they're all sold out.. This time of year I take anything sold out offline then after the busy holidays I put them back up as made to order.. then over the course of the year I make inventory and put them back as in stock ready to ship. I'm sold out on about 150 items currently.

Thanks. I do not remember her doing those. They are more basic in design and not to intricate. With my Marine I always had to be careful of the flag breaking when packing. Military will never go out of style. Any form of it. I started making these plaques just before I stopped doing shows and did quite well. The black outsold the blue. Now I am making military pens. Just started those.  Those I gave away because again not selling anything these days. I am now in it for just the fun side. Been there done that.

I always make several of the military puzzles to give away at my shows. I used the puzzle pattern for the bear and made a USCG puzzle with it. At my shows I look for hats or shirts with military logos. My last show I found a USCG hat. Turned out to be parents of a Coast Guard member. They got the puzzle. I also made some of the military plaques for an American Legion Post. They wanted a Space Force one also. I was able to make one using the Space Force logo. I now see a patten available.

Hope the clock is well received.

Space Force. That is it. Will be looking for Steve Good to do one of those I guess. I too always looked for military hats or jackets and strike up conversations as they pass by.
