I'm a retired woodworker and I spend a lot of time making wooden cars for a local charity called Toys 4 Smiles. We get local companies to donate scrap wood which we make into cars and then give them to any kid who wants one. We have made over 120,000 cars and never charged a cent for them. Last year when the big tornadoes hit Joplin, MO., we sent nearly 1,000 cars to Joplin to help the kids who lost all their toys in the storm. Working with wood, helping kids, feels good.
