 Your perseverance  paid off this time. Looks great.. Hey I just found my new favorite wood, it is bamboo. Not the easiest to find but it is very dense and super easy to cut as well as being quite easy on blades. It seem quite strong and would probably be a good wood for projects like this guitar ornament.
