Wichman
Here are a couple of pictures of the N95 pre filters for my respirator. If you're not wearing a mask, this is what you may be breathing. barb.j.enders
Kris Martinson
Thank you for posting this very important message. I hope that everyone working with dust-making projects pays careful attention to the health problems that dust can cause. Emphysema and obstructive pulmonary disease are extremely debilitating. What dust mask are you using, and where do you purchase it? barb.j.enders
barb.j.enders
I wear an Elipse Low profile mask. Purchased one through Wood Chuckers in the GTA area. The one I have now was from Lee Valley. It is also important to wear while doing the hand sanding. That creates lots of dust as well.
Gonzo
I use the less expensive N95. If there’s a Menards in your area they have the N95 on sale. 20 pack for $4.99 with a $4.00 rebate.
TAIrving
I use the Trend Air Stealth Lite mask Amazon.com: Trend Air Stealth Lite Pro Respirator Dust Mask, Reusable Lightweight Frame & Replaceable Mask Filter, APF20, NIOSH Approved, STE/LP/ML : Tools & Home Improvement. It is easy to use and effective (I think). I want my lungs to be in tip-top shape when flu or Covid come to visit.
Norm Fengstad
I wear a dust mask almost all the time and have dust collectors, air cleaners and I put a square house hold fan back of the scrollsaw with a furnace filter in front of it. The dust from the scroll saw is very fine and causes all sots of breathing problems

What dust mask are you using, and where do you purchase it? I use two different masks. One in the shop and the other if I need one when I'm out and about. For the shop I use a Gerson. I found that if you twist off the original filter, the mounting receptacle for replacement filter packs is there. I use the replaceable pre filters to extend the life of the Organic vapor cartridges. https://www.harborfreight.com/p95-maintenance-free-dual-cartridge-respirator-large-67727.html https://www.harborfreight.com/p95-prefilter-pad-refill-3-pack-56984.html https://www.harborfreight.com/organic-vapor-cartridge-2-pack-56988.html https://www.harborfreight.com/multipurpose-nuisance-dust-mask-with-replaceable-liners-94222.html
