GreggA Posted January 4 Report Posted January 4 It's been 14 years since I did scrollsawing. I used to use the Dremel Scroll station. I had a 25%off coupon so I bought the Bauer 22in. Now I need to get blades, wood, drill bits etc. I'm starting over since I last did it, but I'm excited. I'm in Longview Texas TexasDIY, JackJones, Be_O_Be and 2 others 5 Quote
jerry walters Posted January 6 Report Posted January 6 Welcome to the Village Gregg. More importantly welcome back to scrolling. With your new saw you will have many years of enjoyment. Although the Bauer is new some of our members give it high marks. Don't be afraid to ask questions. Folks here are very knowledgeable and willing to help any way they can. Jerry Be_O_Be 1 Quote
Scrappile Posted January 6 Report Posted January 6 Welcome to the Village. Glad to have you. Keep us posted about your new saw. They are new on the market so very little history. Be_O_Be 1 Quote
Ber Gueda Posted January 7 Report Posted January 7 Looking at the pictures a question came to my mind: I find the blade a little far away from the front edge of the table. Is it more comfortable to scoll like this? Be_O_Be 1 Quote
ScrollerGuy Posted January 7 Report Posted January 7 I have the Grizzly 22 inch which has a very large table with the blade similarly further from the front. It took a little while to visually get used to the increased distance, but it became normal pretty quickly. More room in the front of the blade makes cutting large pieces a little easier because more of the weight is on the table instead of hanging off, which makes tipping of the project less likely. I would likely have purchased the Bauer saw if it was available when I got the Grizzly. The price is too good to not give it a try, especially if you can get your hands on one of the 25% off coupons. GreggA Posted January 12 Author Report Posted January 12 Here it is on a stand, little vibration.. BadBob and TexasDIY 2 Quote
rafairchild2 Posted January 12 Report Posted January 12 (edited) Next thing you will want to do is add a top vac. I used 3/4 loc-line off amazon, then throated to a 2.5 inch pipe to my dust handling system. I also put my cart up on some 2x4s since I do not need to wheel it around much. That gets rid of vibration. Edited January 12 by rafairchild2 GreggA 1 Quote
