Popular Post Hudson River Rick Posted January 7 Popular Post Report Posted January 7 I posted this in other forums also, sorry if you had to look twice. First project of the new year. Afriend and his wife took a holiday trip to London this year instead of buying each other things they didn't need, NOT A BAD IDEA. Anyway he took a bunch of pictures and remembred that I had told him about a street artist who went by the name of Banksey, so he took some photos of the Banksey art. The one I decided to try to cut was painted on white brick wall, with black paint used for the image. I printed out a copy of an old white brick wall and Pasted it on a mframe a I & painted Grey, I don't know if the good Mr.Banksey had a title for this painting, so I call it "The Laundry Lady" Thanks for looking. Hudson River Rick Posted January 8 Author Report Posted January 8 @OCtoolguy Thanks Ray. I like the message he puts out with black paint on mostly white walls. On occasion, he would put a splash of color in some of his creations, he was a very creative artist. I don't know a lot about him, but I find his work very energetic. My friends told me there are paintings all over the place and a bunch of them have been painted over. I don't think the good MR.BANKSY, which is not his given name, is of this universe any more, he did a lot of heavy drugs, and I believe he changed his cosmic address. Thanks again for your kind remarks. Rick OCtoolguy 1 Quote

Not sure about this. He appears to be in his 50's, first name may be Robbie , married and not sure about the heavy drug usage. That part makes for a good story though. I've cut a lot of Banksy art and it appears he has still been around to do some trump related pieces so, I for one hope he is still with us. OCtoolguy 1 Quote
Hudson River Rick Posted Thursday at 11:50 PM Author Report Posted Thursday at 11:50 PM @Wilson142 Hey Mike, the information I talked about was at second hand. Would you mind sharing where you were able to find your information about Banksey,Iwould bevery interestedinsee his complete portfolio. Thanks for sharing your info. Rick Quote
Wilson142 Posted Friday at 01:07 PM Report Posted Friday at 01:07 PM Start with Google, search Banksy. you'll see many articles about Banksy and his works. they give his birthplace, wifes name etc. they list art shows with his works and values. It isn't all google info. that's just a starting point. there are articles by the BBC, Britannica, of course wikipedia and many more. I think perhaps they stay away from some info because the unknown is one of the things that makes him so compelling. I have many favorites but one of my favs is the little girl performing CPR on a peace dove. I also like his gangster rats and monkey art. barb.j.enders 1 Quote
