Steve Simon Posted January 8 Report Posted January 8 Just got my Harbor Freight, Bauer Scroll Saw home... I think a Foot switch is a good idea. Thought on whether I buy a NC (normally closed) or a NO (normally open) would be helpful... Quote
rafairchild2 Posted January 8 Report Posted January 8 (edited) Buy a dead mans switch. Amazon has some WEN foot switches that work quite well. $12. You want to stop and start the blade yourself just by lifting your foot, better control of what you are doing. https://amzn.to/4gNvaWA Edited January 8 by rafairchild2 ChelCass, Scrolling Steve, ScrollerGuy and 1 other 4 Quote
Bill WIlson Posted January 8 Report Posted January 8 I think the majority opinion would be to get the dead man switch or what Harbor Freight describes as the Momentary Power Switch. Some folks like the other type (power maintained) and you might as well, so it is a matter of personal preference. If I get a vote, it's for the dead man style. Quote
poupster2 Posted January 8 Report Posted January 8 You need a dead man switch that is NO (Normally Open) so that when to remove your feet from the Switch, it will not continue to run. I believe Harbor freight has one that you could use. Quote
jerry walters Posted January 8 Report Posted January 8 Steve, welcome to the Village. You have come to the right place. Ask questions, folks here are willing and able to answer any questions you have. I agree with most, the dead man foot pedal is the one to get. Jerry Quote

Scrappile Posted January 9 Report Posted January 9 Old oddball me here. I have press-on press-off on all my none deadly machines. I figure after it dawns on my wife that my scroll saw has been running for three days, solid she may come and check on me. To see if I am still alive. jerry walters, barb.j.enders, Wichman and 4 others 1 6 Quote
