Golden Retriever

Just finished cutting this Golden Retriever for my Grand  daughter and need help with a backgrod  color not sure if black would be right any help would be apricated.

Black is my go-to backer board color. I do use stain and not paint. If it was my cut and I was about to stain, I'd use a black backer and stain the front with Ipswich. That is just a little darker than Natural.

I keep a small collection of construction paper in various colors, I can slip them behind the item and get a feel for what I think works best.

As a Custom Picture Framer, I have access to over 300 colors of mat board, but black usually wins.
