BadBob Posted yesterday at 11:50 AM Report Posted yesterday at 11:50 AM What would you cut from red cedar? I'm asking because I have a piece that I am wondering what to do with it. OCtoolguy 1 Quote
scrollerpete Posted yesterday at 01:33 PM Report Posted yesterday at 01:33 PM Make sure you wear a mask, it smells good but can be toxic. I used some for trivets and Kleenex boxes covers Juan Rodriguez and OCtoolguy 2 Quote

That said it is very easily breakable too.. Now days I'd probably use it for boxes rather than fret type projects because it's not very strong wood.. at least that's how I remember it.. had many that got broken or fall apart after cutting. Norm Fengstad Posted 7 hours ago Report Posted 7 hours ago Cedar is a great wood but I sparingly use it as the toxic dust and fumes cause rash and blisters on my face. I wear dust mask however the toxic resins can enter ones body through eyes and even skin so a toxicologist told me Quote
Gonzo Posted 7 hours ago Report Posted 7 hours ago (edited) Cribbage board, intarsia, jewelry box, the list could go on and on. Have fun with it! By the way, how big are the pieces pictured? Edited 7 hours ago by Gonzo Fish 1 Quote
Denny Knappen Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago Not sure about toxic, but it sure makes me sneeze. Quote
