Popular Post Phdesigns Posted February 2 Popular Post Report Posted February 2 First ‘real’ project. Learned a bit in corners, blade tension and such. Using Olsen #7 crown tooth blades. My arm release mechanism made the job much easier with all the holes. Fun stuff! TAIrving, Be_O_Be, barb.j.enders and 30 others 32 1 Quote

FrankEV Posted February 2 Report Posted February 2 Very Nice. I realalize you said first project, but FWIW, a #7 blade is really large. I'm an avocate of using the smallest blade possible for the kind of cutting you are doing and the thickness of the material you are cutting. You might find a #3 or even a #1 blade would be eaiser to work with for this kind of cutting and materil thickness. Just my two cents. heppnerguy, Phdesigns, Roberta Moreton and 1 other 4 Quote
Scrappile Posted February 2 Report Posted February 2 Great cutting. I cannot imagine what engineer decided that was a good place for an arm release for a scroll saw. Surely, it was one that had never scrolled. Phdesigns 1 Quote

These I had picked up at Rockler to start with. Thanks. FrankEV 1 Quote
sydknee Posted February 3 Report Posted February 3 That’s a pretty impressive piece of cutting. Well done. I also suggest a smaller blade. But hey you still have done so well with the #7 what do I know. Phdesigns 1 Quote
Barry5180 Posted February 5 Report Posted February 5 That's a great first project. Very well done. I like your release mechanism. I saw one on YouTube that was just a lever mounted right in from of the release pin. Follow topic y Phdesigns 1 Quote

rdatelle Posted February 8 Report Posted February 8 That came out great but I was surprised at the size blade you used. A #3 would work great. Did good though for your first project. Phdesigns 1 Quote

heppnerguy Posted Wednesday at 11:24 PM Report Posted Wednesday at 11:24 PM I am amazed at how well you cut this, again for a first cut and the use of a #7 blade to do it, Dick heppnerguy Quote
