Popular Post Dave Monk Posted February 26 Popular Post Report Posted February 26 I used Peruvian walnut for the inlay. The light wood is soft maple. The dowels are American walnut. JackJones, Wichman, meflick and 17 others 18 2 Quote

I never have a plan for the scraps. Sometimes I can use them for other inlays but a lot of the time they end up in the trash. It's a lot of waste for sure but I like them and they sell well. heppnerguy 1 Quote

Your inlays look so good it is NOT worth worrying about using the scraps. danny and Dave Monk 1 1 Quote

Chris The top I used some clip art I found. I think I used one of Steve Good's patterns for the basis of the layers. Happy to share if you would like. heppnerguy 1 Quote

heppnerguy Posted February 28 Report Posted February 28 Your skills are so amazing. I always find myself in awe when I see one of your new projects. First time I have seen any dowels used in the making of a box. I immediately wondered about the dowels when I saw the photo of this box. It made me wonder about how you added that dark color as you did until I read you post. Interesting idea Dick heppnerguy Dave Monk 1 Quote
