chouseknecht Posted October 31, 2012 Report Posted October 31, 2012 Does anyone know how to keep plexiglass from melting back together while cutting it with a scroll saw? Quote
DWSUDEKUM Posted October 31, 2012 Report Posted October 31, 2012 Slow speed and a blade that removes the cut plexiglass quickly. The Polar blades from Flying Dutchman work well for this. DW Quote
Travis Posted October 31, 2012 Report Posted October 31, 2012 I never tried it myself. But this thread might help. http://www.scrollsawvillage.com/topic/1621-how-to-scroll-in-sheet-plastic/ Quote
Kepy Posted October 31, 2012 Report Posted October 31, 2012 I found that by applying masking tape over the areas to be cut and then drawing the lines on the tape that I got clean cuts. Quote
amazingkevin Posted October 31, 2012 Report Posted October 31, 2012 i just go slow with any blade Quote
Dan Posted November 1, 2012 Report Posted November 1, 2012 Yes, the masking tape works great. I did a test last year and found that I can still cut with a high blade speed and there was absolutely no melting. Quote
