LisaNutty
Hi everyone, I'm a complete novice at scroll sawing, it's something I've been interested in doing for a long, long time but never actually started. I'm looking at some scroll saws at the moment, I've seen two i like the look of - Erbauer ERB110SSW 90W 406mm Scroll Saw 230V from Screw Fix or the SIP 16" Scroll Saw 240V from Toolstation (opinions?) I'm hoping to be making wooden free standing letters and decorating them, and jigsaws/toys etc. I'm purchasing some books in the next few days and a saw in the next couple of days so I'm sure ill have LOTS of questions apart from a scroll saw what other equipment would I need to purchase? Thank you everybody.
Docupton
Hi, I'm Doc from Leicester. Welcome to the village. My first saw was an Erbauer 16" A good strong machine, a feature I liked on it was that I could use pinned or unpinned blades and turn the blade 45 degrees if I wanted to do larger work, on the down side I sometimes struggled to attatch the bottom of the blade. Have fun, and don't forget to show us your work. Edited November 7, 2012 by Docupton

amazingkevin
welcome, i'd say a flutter wheel to sand the fuzzys off the project is a big help on delicate work, scroll reverse blades help cut down sanding too!,a dremil tool for special needs,a dremil drill press for projects bigger than 9" across to drill your holes for the blades,a foot swich for the scroll saw and last but not least a nice sturdy stay put brite work light.these will be a big plus for you right now, more later.thanks for joining!
