Ben12
Started working on this (on and off) about a month ago, making some progress. It's going to be a gift for a special friend. This is a Dirk Boelman design from the Art Factory. The first image is the one from The Art Factory website. All the others are mine. Ben12
Thanks everyone for the kind words. I have finished the clock. In case you wanted to know. I used 5 different woods. Walnut, maple, oak, aspen and bloodwood. The chimney is bloodwood. I had a piece left over from an Intarsia project and decided to use it for the chimney. I also carved the grout lines for the bricks. This was an option in the plans. The 3 pics I added are the finished clock, the chimney and the elves inside the workshop swinging on the pendulum. This clock was a lot of fun to build. It will be leaving here shortly as it is a gift for a dear friend who is very ill and only has about 6 months to live. I hope this clock will bring a smile to his face. He is a fellow woodworker and fishing buddy. I will miss him terribly. My finished clock below. http://www.flickr.co...N02/8206087786/ Ben Edited November 24, 2012 by Travis
