WolfmoonCT
I've only sold one item... Wish I knew how to sell more stuff. I have more pens that are not even listed. http://www.etsy.com/shop/WoodworksByWolf Travis
Dan
I have been on Etsy for almost 2 years. Mostly sell pens. I guess I've averaged about 2 sales a month. Christmas is pretty busy but still doesn't pay the bills. I hope to list more scroll saw items in the near future. Some things that seem to help sales is more listings. I see some people with hundreds of items listed and they usually have a lot of sales. Do some research on pricing. You may make a quick sale if the price is low, but is the time it took to make the item, takes some pictures, list the item, then pack and mail it worth what you are selling it for? If your item is unique, you may get more interest. http://www.etsy.com/shop/TimberCreekPens Travis
marmoh
I opened my store in Sept. 2012. I've had 3 sales which isn't great but with the economy like it is you can't ask for too much. What I like most about it is, it is a place for people to go to, to see what type of woodworking I do. When you say you do woodworking people think big stuff, and when you say scroll saw, they have no idea of what you are talking about. The cost of doing business on Etsy is minimal. Need to find time to take pictures and add more to the site. http://www.etsy.com/shop/DivineWoodenDesigns Travis
DWSUDEKUM
I have several online stores that I am currently using. I have one on ETSY, one on ARTFIRE, and one on ECRATER. While I will admit that I have not been very active keeping up with the listings and some of the listings are rather blah I have sold some things here and there. ETSY.com - http://www.etsy.com/...kum?ref=si_shop I have had this shop open since October of 2009 and have only sold 4 items - however I have not pushed the stores presence nor put a lot effort into promoting it. The fact that folks have purchased through the store even though I have not publicly advertised its presence indicates that people are going on the site to shop. It is easy enough to set up and use. ARTFIRE.com - http://www.artfire.c...o/DW_Collection I have had this store since early 2010. It is not free but is only $9.95 a month. I have sold 6 items on this site. As with ETSY I have been lazy in promoting it and I still get sales. It is real easy to set up with great help if needed. ECRATER - http://thescrolledhand.ecrater.com/ I have had this account the longest. It is a GOOGLE partner and has a LOT of bells and whistles that I am currently not using. I have sold several items out of this store. As with all stores you have to put forth an effort to publicize your store to the public. You will need to have good photos of your work, nothing will help you sell faster than having a good photograph and description of your item. A bit of work on your part will pay off. Selling online is not too difficult but it does require that you make a serious effort or you will not get the results you are hoping for. kcortese
I opened and Etsy store last August, here is the link: http://www.etsy.com/shop/CorteseCreations Didn't get any sales until I started an add campain with a a spending limit of $7.00 a month giving my items up to 2,500 search impressions. After starting the add, I sold 4 items in two weeks. Not a lot, but better than not selling anything at all. I check my stats every day, and have no buyers since the holiday season ended. I'm not happy about the payment process. When you sell in item through Etsy, you have to wait 7 - 10 days before the money is transfered into your account and made available. Selling in Etsy has it's avantages too. Your items show up in Google searchs and reach more people. I wish the best of luck to everyone who has an Etsy store. heppnerguy
I started an Etsy store once and I was not even able to find it. So I decided that if there was so much stuff on there that I couldn't even find my own store, why do I want to be bothered by that ? too much on there to be worth the hassel for me. I have done pretty well with a Facebook sight. which is totally free and I have sold $500 off it without even trying. I know I can sell much more from there but I don't have the time to work on it until after Christmas, then with time freed up, I will promote it again... Fish
I don't have one but it really surprises me you guys don't sell more. I wonder if people really know how much is put in to scroll saw work. I have a hard time parting with stuff I do.
